President Hilary Clinton in 2008?

The political landscape swings back and forth, left to right, in a regular, clock like fashion. Think about the last 45 years.

Kennedy and Johnson in the 60's, with Nixon elected in reaction to the 60's. Nixon turns out to be a crook, so we elect a peanut farmer from Georgia. Carter is probably the most decent human being every to be in the White House, unfortunately, the Ayatollah took hostages on his watch, so Reagan was elected. Eight years of Reaganonics, deficit spending and four years of George W Number 1 was followed by Slick Willie.

Al Gore was unelectable, still almost won anyway, and some cowboy from Texas got elected in 2000. Planes crashed into buildings in late summer 2001, and he scared the country into thinking it was ok to march into Iraq 18 months later. Now, gas prices are at an all time high, it turns out there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, and you can feel the country's political wrecking ball starting to gain some momentum back towards the center.

Hilary has the same gift the her husband has - the ability to deliver a simple message to the people, something John Kerry and Al Gore could not do. I have no idea who the Republicans will toss out in 2008 - it won't be Dick Chaney. The Republicans will have to find a moderate, electable candidate - the only person who comes to mind is John McCain. I'll go ahead and say it now 3 and 1/2 years in advance - I think Hilary has the inside line. We'll see.
