Late Night NASCAR

Memo to NASCAR. I heard you had a race Saturday night at Daytona. It ended at 1:50 a.m. EST. I'm getting too old to stay up that late to watch TV. I was half asleep on the couch as "Fat Boy", Tony Stewart, took the checkered flag. I feel sorry for those fans at the Speedway. They probably didn't get out of the parking lot until after 4:00 a.m. The race didn't start till after 10:30 p.m. They should have called it and ran it on Sunday night instead in prime time - it's not like there is anything worth watching on NBC otherwise.

I guess it is not as bad as the Busch race a few weeks ago when they rain delayed it until no one could race any longer....I figure if it hasn't cleared up in an hour or so and it is a night race, then it should move over to the next day rather than waiting for weather....

Two thoughts.

1. Though it was a late night, they have to run it that day if they possibly can. A number of fans are there for one day and you would get a whole lot of people ticked off if it was postponed. It would suck to pay $85 for a seat, have the event cancelled, and have to return to Louisville the next day. By at least running it (with the possibility of calling it after 50% of laps +1), fans get to see something. I have sat through 2 rain delays at NASCAR races (p.s. got your sister drunk during both) and though it was bad, I was glad to see some racing.

2. Don't hate on Tony Stewart. Just because Jeffy is not going to make the chase, you don't have to be mad.
