Cincinnati Reds Need Help

In an effort to improve the team, the Cincinnati Reds fired former Louisville Bats manager Dave Miley this week. Dave Miley is not the problem. The Reds pitching, or absolute lack thereof, is the problem. The fact that Sean Casey has not hit a sacrifice fly since September, 2003 is the problem (Everyone knows that the sacrifice fly is the most underrated and underutilized play in baseball). Same deal with the LA Dodgers and their firing of hitting coach Eddie Murray. Eddie Murray is not the problem with the hitters in LA.

Until the Reds obtain some arms that know the location and zip code of the strike zone, their address in the basement of the National League Central will remain unchanged.

Spurs will win Game 7 Tonite

I like the Detroit Pistons to win tonight in the NBA Game 7. They are at home. Tim Duncan has something to prove - that he can win it all without David Robinson. The Alamo Dome will be rocking and it will be just a little to much for the boys from the Motor City to overcome. Plus, if Detroit wins, I don't think that their police department is ready and prepared for the riots and arson that would follow. So, Go Spurs.

Tiger Woods will win US Open

Tiger shot an even par 70 and is 3 back of the leader after the first round of the 2005 US Open. Go ahead and put his name on the trophy. All these other hacks are playing for second place.

Eldrick is on a mission - his swing is retooled (again), he won the Masters, and all he does is point his game towards the Four Majors. Yesterday, he did what he needed to do, which is not shot 77 and take himself out of contention for the weekend. On Saturday and Sunday, dude is the best there is.

So, after he wins on Sunday, how do you think he'll do at the third Major of the year - the British Open, which will be at St. Andrews?

Michael Jackson Walks

Wacko Jacko got off. Jury found him not guilty - remember the jury found him NOT GUILTY - the jury did not say he was INNOCENT. Two different things. The law is the following - If the jury has a REASONABLE DOUBT, they MUST vote NOT GUILTY. And that's what they did, even though he is a child molestor. The jury had a reasonable doubt that he did these things - meaning the jury did not find this kid and his mom credible, therefore, that equals reasonable doubt, which equals not guilty.

Michael Jackson Verdict Watch (Day 2)

The jury has finished deliberating for the second day in the Michael Jackson trial - no verdict yet. If this jury was going to let him walk free, they would have done it today. Every day that passes puts Michael Jackson one step closer to the penitentiary. The longer that the jury deliberates, the more I think that they will convict him of something, and that there is maybe one or two holdouts in the jury room that need to be convinced further by the others on the jury.

The criminal confinement charges are bogus; I never understood why the prosecutors included those charges (then again, usually prosecutors throw everything at a defendant, with the hopes that the jury will buy one of the charges - if you throw enough poop on the wall, some of it will stick).

At this point, he either gets convicted, or at worst, the jury can't reach a verdict and is hung, which means that the Great State of California gets to put this circus on again.
